Stan Twardy was mentioned in an article,"Federal Judge Gives Conn. Libertarians Election Law Victory," in The Connecticut Law Tribune. Day Pitney attorneys Stan Twardy, Dan Wenner, John Cerreta and Daniel Raccuia represented the Libertarian Party in a victory in the U.S. District Court of Connecticut. A federal judge has issued a preliminary injunction allowing the Libertarian Party to use people who are not Connecticut residents to collect signatures necessary to get party candidates on this year's state election ballots. The Libertarian Party can also now hire professional out-of state circulators to collect signatures for their candidates. Unless the injunction is lifted, the Libertarian Party will now be on more equal footing with Democrats and Republicans. The Libertarians' preliminary injunction request was part of a larger lawsuit challenging a state statute that requires petition circulators to be state residents.
