Organization, Inclusion and Engagement

Overview

Day Pitney is committed to cultivating a broad spectrum of insights and experiences and fostering a welcoming and inclusive work environment. We embrace these values within our firm and the communities in which we live and work. Inclusivity is one of the firm's core values. We believe people with different opinions, perspectives, lifestyles, ideas, thinking, and knowledge make us a stronger, more productive law firm. We continue striving to provide meaningful guidance, challenging projects, and career development opportunities to assist our professionals in reaching their greatest potential. In doing so, our goal is ultimately to ensure that we leverage our differences to achieve richer, broader, and more innovative results for our clients.

Spearheading this commitment is the Executive Committee, the Partner & Chief Organization, Inclusion and Engagement ("OIE") Officer, the Partner in Charge of OIE, the Director of OIE, and other key members of the firm. Firm leaders are responsible for furthering the firm's inclusion and engagement objectives and serve as thought leaders, ambassadors, and advocates on these issues.

While we are proud of what the firm has achieved over the years, we continue to build on those accomplishments. One of the ways we're doing this is through internal Employee Resource Groups which are open to all attorneys. The Day Pitney Diverse Attorneys (DPDA) is a network of attorneys across the firm, dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where ideas, perspectives, and experiences can be shared to support the growth and success of our attorneys. Others are Women Working Together (WWT), which provides mutual support, professional growth, and community service opportunities to WWT member attorneys at the firm and to clients, and the Day Pitney Alliance, which provides an avenue for Day Pitney employees—regardless of identity or sexual orientation or role within the firm—to express support for LGBTQ people and to promote awareness of, and support for, LGBTQ causes and concerns. The Day Pitney Working Parents network provides a community at the firm to share ideas, learning experiences, and support for each other in balancing professional work lives with meaningful engagement as parents, caregivers, and family members.

We host a Heritage Month Speaker Series for all of our employees at which speakers discuss topics of importance related to the various heritage month celebrations. These events are broadcast live throughout all our offices.

Day Pitney also regularly sponsors and supports attendance at events put on by organizations dedicated to enhancing opportunities for lawyers and law students of all backgrounds. Day Pitney attorneys serve and have served in leadership positions in many of these organizations.

We are committed to working with our clients, professional colleagues, external organizations, and others in the communities in which we practice as we pursue the common goal of a professional workplace where opportunity is available to all. We continue to strive to provide challenging opportunities, meaningful guidance, and positive incentives to assist our professionals in achieving their greatest potential. In doing so, our goal is ultimately to create advantages from our differences and to achieve richer, broader, and innovative results.
