As co-chair of Day Pitney’s Data Privacy, Protection and Litigation practice group, Roberts dedicates his practice to helping clients manage legal risks in an increasingly digital world. He leads the firm’s work on breach response, regulatory compliance, and digital risk mitigation across a wide range of industries. He has worked on hundreds of breach matters involving sensitive personal and business data and frequently represents clients before federal and state agencies, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office for Civil Rights (OCR), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), FBI, Secret Service, and various state attorneys general.
Roberts counsels a wide range of clients, including leading healthcare and life sciences organizations, educational institutions, media and technology companies, financial services firms, and family offices. He is a trusted advisor on breach preparedness and response, privacy governance, vendor risk management, and digital asset protection. His leadership in the field has earned him multiple accolades, including the 2023 Thought Leadership Award (U.S.) from WealthTech Americas (click here for ClearView Financial Media’s WealthTech America’s methodology), and his team was honored with the Cyber Security Specialist Wealth Management Award at the 2023 Family Wealth Report Awards (click here for ClearView Financial Media’s Family Wealth Report Awards methodology).
In addition to his legal practice, Roberts is deeply involved in the legal and academic communities. He serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he teaches data privacy and breach response. He also served on two Connecticut state advisory boards focused on privacy and data governance. Roberts earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Colby College. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut.
