Day Pitney's Renewable Energy Team Advise Mayflower Wind Energy Through Regulatory Application Process for Transmission Connector Facility

Day Pitney Renewable Energy Attorneys advised and represented Mayflower Wind Energy LLC, a major developer of offshore wind energy generation projects, in the filing of the regulatory applications seeking approval to construct and operate a 1,200 megawatts transmission connector facility interconnecting in Falmouth, Massachusetts. The project, if approved, will enable delivery of the 1,200 megawatts of clean renewable energy from Mayflower Wind's offshore wind resource to the New England bulk power grid in Falmouth and could eliminate over 2 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually, which is equivalent to reducing the greenhouse gas emissions of more than 5 million miles of car traffic. This project represents a significant step forward in the advancement of Massachusetts' policies and legislative mandates for clean energy procurement, climate change mitigation, and development of the offshore wind energy industry. The team included William Pezzoni, Eric Runge, Gemma Cashman, Margaret Czepiel, and Sophia Browning.
