2020’s Title IX Overhaul: Views from the Bar and the Bench

Chase Rogers, Dan Schwartz and Jennifer Palmer spoke to the Connecticut Conference of Independent Colleges at their 2020 Member Forum. Their presentation, "2020's Title IX Overhaul: Views from the Bar and the Bench," covered the new Title IX regulations requiring sweeping changes to the previous regime that took effect in August 2020. Participants were briefed on the key issues, and presenters discussed how colleges must now address sexual harassment complaints under Title IX, including investigations, live hearings, real-time cross-examination, virtual technology, mandatory appeals and/or mediation. Trends and recent litigation were also discussed.
