Low Income Housing Tax Credits and Opportunity Zones: Synergies and Conflicts

On January 17, Craig Gianetti and Justin Hannan will be speaking on a panel, "Low Income Housing Tax Credits and Opportunity Zones: Synergies and Conflicts," at the 2020 Economic Leadership Forum, produced by the New Jersey Bankers Association. The Economic Leadership Forum is an annual event where bankers, professionals and business leaders can hear from key thinkers and influencers on the issues that shape New Jersey. The keynote speakers this year will include Steve Forbes and Karl Rove.

Gianetti and Hannan will be joined by co-panelists Matt Gross of the Urban Builders Collaborative, Jason Wilber of Richman Capital and David Walsh of JPMorgan Chase Bank, to discuss affordable housing financing, and in particular, Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) financing and federal Qualified Opportunity Zones. They will share insights into how the federal programs can be used together to facilitate the development of affordable housing in low income communities, and conversely how the Qualified Opportunity Zone program could negatively impact the development of affordable housing with LIHTCs.
