Overview
Palak Sharma represents businesses and institutions in complex commercial litigation, with a focus on high-stakes disputes involving contractual, statutory, and regulatory issues across state and federal courts. Palak has experience handling all phases of litigation, including drafting and arguing dispositive motions, managing large-scale discovery, taking and defending depositions, and preparing cases for trial, and alternate dispute resolution proceedings on matters involving breach of contract, fraud, consumer finance, and business torts. She has represented clients in state and federal jurisdictions including New York, New Jersey, and California.
In addition to her commercial litigation practice, Palak represents clients in intellectual property disputes, with a particular focus on trademark litigation and proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, where she has managed matters from discovery through trial briefing and hearing preparation, combining her litigation experience with a business-focused approach to brand protection and enforcement.
Palak also advises clients on government contract regulatory and compliance issues, including cybersecurity and False Claims Act exposure. Her work includes internal investigations, risk assessments, and strategic counseling aligned with clients’ business objectives.
Palak maintains an active pro bono practice and was recognized with Day Pitney’s Coleman Award for her commitment to public service. Her pro bono work includes civil rights litigation and advocacy for underserved communities.
Before joining Day Pitney, Palak served as a legal intern with the National Labor Relations Board and as a judicial intern to the Honorable Gerald I. Fisher of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
