Patrick "Pat" Gerity practices primarily in the areas of public utility and energy law, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate law. Pat represents clients on a variety of matters in proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) as well as before state and local administrative agencies. As a member of the team that counsels the New England Power Pool (NEPOOL), Pat has worked extensively on the development and on-going administration of NEPOOL's sector-based governance structure. He also regularly provides legal counsel to the NEPOOL Membership Subcommittee on issues raised by the requests of a wide variety of interested stakeholders for membership in NEPOOL.
Pat conducts legal and regulatory compliance risk assessments and compliance program reviews for a broad range of participants in the energy industry, advises participants on all aspects of compliance with federal, industry, and state requirements, and guides clients through audits and investigations by the FERC and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation. Pat is a former President and is presently a member of the Board of the Northeast Chapter of the Energy Bar Association.
Pat also counsels licensees with regard to compliance with all aspects of state liquor and other Connecticut state consumer protection laws and regulations and has worked on a variety of matters involving local and state administrative agencies.
