Overview
William "Will" Black is an experienced civil litigator who represents businesses and corporations of all sizes in complex commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts. He handles matters for clients in a wide range of industries, including insurance broking, real estate, education, health services, food and beverage, and financial services. Will's experience includes disputes involving corporate governance, business torts, employment disputes, and the civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. Will is also an experienced appellate attorney in both state and federal courts. Will primarily practices in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Will is involved in pro bono matters involving the First Amendment's protections for free speech and assembly, as well as religious liberty issues in the local government context.
Before joining Day Pitney, Will clerked for Justice Francis X. Flaherty at the Rhode Island Supreme Court.
