Day Pitney's consumer finance team is a very active, fast paced group that has litigation matters spanning the eastern region.  The Group consists of attorneys, paralegals and staff that work collaboratively in a team environment across all offices.  The Group is seeking to hire a part time Project Assistant that would directly report to the Group's lead paralegal.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining client files and records 
  • Create, edit, format and proofread documents
  • Assist with preparation and eventual filing of court documents
  • Enter case related information into client databases 
  • Enter tasks, dates and deadlines into the firm's docketing systems
  • Work effectively as part of the Consumer Finance Team
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • College education or paralegal certificate preferred
  • Excellent technology skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and ability to learn a number of firm, client, and legal software applications
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely, with tact and professionalism, in every medium of communication (in person, telephone, e-mail), with both internal and external constituents
  • Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Detail oriented; excellent proofreading skills
  • Demonstrates excellent client service skills
  • Willing and eager to undertake additional responsibilities and assist others when needed
  • Ability to be reliable, flexible and adaptable in a variety of situations

Other relevant information:

This is a remote, part time position, with the Group expecting the Project Assistant to work 10-15 hours per week (with approximately 2-3 hours each day).
