Part-time Project Assistant
Day Pitney's consumer finance team is a very active, fast paced group that has litigation matters spanning the eastern region. The Group consists of attorneys, paralegals and staff that work collaboratively in a team environment across all offices. The Group is seeking to hire a part time Project Assistant that would directly report to the Group's lead paralegal.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with maintaining client files and records
- Create, edit, format and proofread documents
- Assist with preparation and eventual filing of court documents
- Enter case related information into client databases
- Enter tasks, dates and deadlines into the firm's docketing systems
- Work effectively as part of the Consumer Finance Team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- College education or paralegal certificate preferred
- Excellent technology skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and ability to learn a number of firm, client, and legal software applications
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely, with tact and professionalism, in every medium of communication (in person, telephone, e-mail), with both internal and external constituents
- Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision
- Excellent time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills
- Detail oriented; excellent proofreading skills
- Demonstrates excellent client service skills
- Willing and eager to undertake additional responsibilities and assist others when needed
- Ability to be reliable, flexible and adaptable in a variety of situations
Other relevant information:
This is a remote, part time position, with the Group expecting the Project Assistant to work 10-15 hours per week (with approximately 2-3 hours each day).
