Truro Stops Enforcing Sign Bylaw
Day Pitney Litigation Partner Keith Bensten was featured in the article "Truro Stops Enforcing Sign Bylaw," in The Provincetown Independent regarding Day Pitney's work alongside the ACLU Foundation of Massachusetts on First Amendment issues. The firm put the Town of Truro on notice that its enforcement of its sign ordinance regarding temporary signs impinged on citizens' First Amendment right to express their political beliefs through signs on their private property in advance of elections. As a result of Day Pitney's efforts, the Town of Truro advised The Provincetown Independent that it would no longer enforce its sign code regarding temporary signs. Day Pitney Litigation Associate William D. Black also assisted with this matter.
