Tom Goldberg was quoted in the Law360 article, "How The Legal World's Response To 2020 Differed From 2008." The article discusses how the industry reacted much more thoughtfully in response to the coronavirus pandemic and that firms especially seemed to prioritize retaining associates.
Goldberg explains that 2008 was on the minds of firm leaders this past year. "We were poised to be invested in growing, and we wanted to maintain our options to do that," he said. "Strategically, when making decisions, we want to be in a position to have kept our new talent and trained our new talent … and that was informed by looking at what happened in the wake of the 2008 crisis."
