Stan Twardy was quoted in an article, "FBI Probe a Bad Flashback for Bridgeport," published by the Connecticut Post. The article discusses an ongoing FBI investigation surrounding scrap metal sales in Bridgeport, CT, a case that became public in January this year. According to the article, federal agents were seen in the city's public facilities department earlier this year and were recently seen again in the downtown government center, including the finance and law departments.
"The fact they're looking around would tell me they have something that they believe may lead them to possibly bring charges" said Twardy, a former U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut and Chief of Staff to Connecticut Governor Lowell P. Weicker, Jr. "The U.S. Attorney and FBI are very sensitive to ensure that the cases they investigate warrant investigation because of the limited resources they have," he said. "So their standard for pursuing things has increased."
