Paul Halasz was quoted in an article, “Attys React To Supreme Court's DirecTV Arbitration Decision,” in Law360. Halasz said that the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that state laws hostile to class action waivers cannot circumvent the Federal Arbitration Act is significant because it resolves the practical question of how to deal with pre-Concepcion consumer contracts that allowed for differences in state law on class arbitration waivers, and because it also represents a further bulwark against creative efforts to challenge federal policy favoring arbitration of claims based on contract formation.
