Day Pitney Partner Richard D. Harris Honored for Pro Bono Work by CT Bar

Day Pitney congratulates partner Rick Harris on receiving a Pro Bono Award from the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA). The awards committee particularly noted Mr. Harris's work in 2011 representing abused and neglected children in partnership with Lawyers for Children America, where he currently serves as president of the organization's national board of directors.

The CBA Pro Bono Award recognizes legal professionals who demonstrate a dedication to the provision of pro bono legal services.

"For close to two decades, with the support of the members of the CBA, the Connecticut Bar Foundation and my colleagues at Day Pitney, Lawyers for Children America has provided pro bono representation for more than five thousand children in the abuse and neglect system," Harris said. "On behalf of all of the children who have been helped by Lawyers for Children America, I thank all who continue to support these efforts."

The award ceremony took place June 11 at the 2012 CBA Annual Meeting, where Day Pitney partner and CBA President Brad Gallant introduced the day's speakers, including Connecticut leaders Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Chief Justice Chase T. Rogers.
