Enterprise Risk Management For Health Care

Day Pitney Healthcare Attorneys Susan R. Huntington and Phoebe Roth authored the chapter titled "Using Enterprise Risk Management-Based Frameworks to Advance Population Health" for American Health Law Association (AHLA) and the American Society for Health Care Risk Management's (ASHRM) book titled "Enterprise Risk Management for Health Care." This guide provides a comprehensive overview to identify, prioritize and address risks encountered by healthcare organizations in order to preserve and create value and be successful in the ever-evolving competitive environment.

As the authors state in their conclusion, "Unfortunately, organizations that do not adopt effective population health management capabilities may not have the necessary infrastructure to effectively manage costs and increase quality, and therefore may not be able to effectively transition to the value-based payment models being implemented in the United States."

The book was written by a collection of attorneys, academics and medical professionals.

The AHLA is the nation's largest, nonpartisan, 501©(3) educational organization devoted to legal issues in the health care field. The ASHRM is a professional membership group of the American Hospital Association with nearly 6,000 members promoting innovative risk management strategies through education, content and by offering opportunities for professionals to connect and work to identify solutions to support the complexity of health care.
