Real estate, environmental and land use attorney Beth Barton was quoted in an April 3 Law360 article on "5 Tips To Limit An Environmental Disaster's Legal Fallout." Beth says that, "You can't undo the event, but in most instances there are steps that can be taken to mitigate the impacts, particularly those that have the potential of any risk to human health or the environment." She adds, "Stopping the impacts or containing the impacts is paramount." Other suggestions in the article include having an updated response plan, notifying authorities quickly, being open with information, and identifying potential claims as soon as possible.
