"From Concept to Kickoff: Navigating the Challenges of Bringing a New Sports Team to Boston," Boston Bar Association

Day Pitney Intellectual Property Attorney Brandon McCool co-organized and hosted the Boston Bar Association (BBA) panel "From Concept to Kickoff: Navigating the Challenges of Bringing a New Sports Team to Boston" on April 16.

The panel featured Iciar Garcia, Assistant General Counsel, FSG Boston and Kim Miner, Chief Staff & Chief Legal Counsel, Boston Legacy FC, and was moderated by Sarah Willson, Associate General Counsel, Boston Celtics. The speakers discussed bringing a new sports team to Boston, including some of the unique challenges – such as working within a nascent league and developing a brand that is both legally available and meaningful, as well as opportunities – including contributing to the women's sports movement in the city.

Brandon co-organized the panel as co-chair of the Arts, Entertainment, and Sports subcommittee of the BBA's Intellectual Property Law Section Steering Committee.
