Hot Topics in Sustainable Redevelopment Throughout the Northeast
Northeast Sustainable Communities Workshop (NSCW)
Beth Barton spoke on a plenary panel, "Hot Topics in Sustainable Redevelopment Throughout the Northeast," at the 10th Annual Northeast Sustainable Communities Workshop (NSCW) presented by the Brownfield Coalition of the Northeast and held at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, NJ. Barton and fellow panelists led an interactive discussion on emerging issues in brownfields remediation and development, including opportunity zones and emerging contaminants (including PFAS and PFOS). In addition, Barton presented the annual Outstanding Individual Achievement Award to Mark Lewis, the Brownfields Coordinator for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Barton is one of the original team members for the NSCW. The 10th Anniversary of the NSCW was featured by the Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Journal in an article that can be viewed here.
