Daniel Conant advises developers, property owners, investors, institutions, and energy and telecommunications companies on environmental, land use, zoning, and real estate matters. Daniel assists clients in obtaining site plan approvals, special permits, variances, subdivisions, zoning amendments, and other development entitlements. He has served as first chair in public hearings and administrative proceedings before municipal boards, commissions, and state agencies. His experience also includes challenging regulatory and administrative decisions and enforcement actions, including through Article 78 proceedings.
Daniel counsels clients on environmental risks and regulatory compliance, including matters involving the Connecticut Transfer Act. He also has experience supporting renewable energy and telecommunications projects, including solar installations, renewable generation facilities, and wireless transmission infrastructure. In transactional matters, Daniel conducts title, survey, and environmental reviews and drafts and negotiates leases, deeds, easements, purchase agreement amendments, regulatory agreements, and related real estate documents.
Before entering private practice, Daniel worked for an environmental consulting firm, where he prepared Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and evaluated potential environmental risks.
