Overview

Sara K. Uzatmaciyan advises clients on complex environmental matters arising in the real estate and development context, helping clients navigate regulatory requirements while advancing their business objectives. Her practice encompasses environmental regulatory compliance, water and sewer utility permitting and regulation, and matters involving PFAS, CERCLA liability, the Clean Water Act, and New Jersey environmental laws, including the Spill Compensation and Control Act.

Prior to joining Day Pitney, Sara practiced at a boutique New Jersey law firm, where she represented public-sector clients throughout the state, including municipalities, zoning and planning boards, and utility authorities. Her practice included litigation and transactional matters involving state and federal environmental compliance, redevelopment, land use, and municipal law.

During law school, Sara interned with the United States Coast Guard, Office of Maritime and International Law - Environmental Division and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, gaining experience with regulatory compliance, administrative law, and environmental matters at both the state and federal levels.
