Day Pitney LLP announced that the firm has achieved Mansfield Certification from Diversity Lab for the sixth consecutive year after completing the Mansfield Rule twelve-month certification process. The law firm has been a part of this process since the inaugural version in 2017.
The Mansfield Rule is a structured certification process designed to ensure all talent at participating law firms has a fair and equal opportunity to advance into leadership roles. Mansfield is focused on broadening the talent pool for consideration in order to facilitate transparent pathways to leadership.
"We are committed to fostering an environment where everyone can feel empowered, supported and heard, and by following the Mansfield Rule process we are making progress year after year towards creating an inclusive and equitable environment for all," commented Theresa Kelly, Partner in Charge of Diversity and Inclusion at Day Pitney. "During this challenging climate, our firm is committed to increasing diversity and promoting inclusivity through Mansfield certification and other firm efforts."
To achieve Mansfield Certification, Day Pitney utilizes a data-driven approach—designed by talent experts, data scientists, and lawyers at Diversity Lab—to help increase diversity in leadership. Focused on opening the door wider and ensuring that opportunities are inclusive, certified firms consider broad slates of qualified talent from all backgrounds for leadership roles.
For the 2022-2023 Certification, there were 240+ U.S. and Canadian law firms, 20+ UK law firms, and 75+ legal departments that participated in the process. The outcomes are measured annually and the requirements evolve every year to drive further progress. For more information on the process, click here. Day Pitney will be participating in Diversity Lab's 7.0 iteration of the Mansfield Rule, which runs from July 2023 to July 2024.
