On September 10, Day Pitney and Partner Jeffrey Mueller were featured in an article, "Wrestlers Sued the WWE, but Their Lawyer Misbehaved, Facing $500K in Sanctions," published by the Connecticut Law Tribune. Along with K&L Gates LLP, Day Pitney successfully defended cases brought by over 50 former wrestlers, who claimed that WWE concealed long-term risks of head injuries, and also obtained sanctions against the attorney who filed the cases. On September 9, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed the appeals brought by the plaintiffs and their attorney and affirmed the District Court’s judgment in favor of WWE.
