Day Pitney's Rachel Gonzalez Named to "Nation's Best" List by Lawyers of Color
October 4, 2019 – Day Pitney LLP is pleased to announce that partner Rachel A. Gonzalez has been named to the inaugural "Nation's Best" list for the Eastern Region by Lawyers of Color.
Lawyers of Color's selection committee, comprised of fellows, advisers and editorial staff, chose attorneys who had noteworthy accomplishments and a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. One hundred attorneys, limited to law firm partners and senior level corporate counsel, were selected to represent each of six regions across the United States.
A member of Day Pitney's Employment and Labor group, Gonzalez partners with employers on various issues affecting the workplace. She regularly counsels and represents employers on sophisticated labor-relations issues, including union election campaigns, collective bargaining negotiations, injunction proceedings, arbitrations and before the National Labor Relations Board. Gonzalez advises corporations on workforce planning during business changes including sales, stock and asset purchases, closings and relocations. She also counsels and trains employers on employment law compliance with employment laws.
At Day Pitney, Gonzalez also co-chairs the Attorneys of Color Network, chairs the Hiring Committee and is a member of the Diversity Committee. She also serves as a Trustee for the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey (HBA-NJ).
Founded in 2008, Lawyers of Color is a nonprofit organization devoted to promoting diversity in the legal profession and advancing democracy and equality in marginalized communities. It celebrates attorneys of color and conducts research and studies regarding the intersection of the legal profession and social justice.
