As noted in the article, the New Jersey Supreme Court issued an opinion in favor of Walmart rejecting an April 2017 appellate court ruling. The Supreme Court held that medical experts may use terms like "somatization" and "symptom magnification" at trial to explain inconsistencies between plaintiffs' claims of personal injury and medical evidence. The Court also reinstated the jury's verdict of no cause of action in favor of Walmart.
