James Sicilian was quoted in an article about the role of general counsel at law firms which was published in the New Jersey Law Journal. In the article, "Law Firm General Counsel Roles Are Evolving—And Sometimes 'Lonely,'" Sicilian told the Law Journal that his role at Day Pitney includes some routine tasks such as addressing conflicts, as well as working with cybersecurity and information-technology professionals on technology-related issues. "It's still an evolving position," Sicilian said. Many firms, he continued, "resisted the conclusion that it was necessary because they didn't want to take a lawyer's time away from client work....As time's gone on, it's become increasingly prevalent."
