David Doot Elected to Chair Journey Home
David Doot was elected as chair of Journey Home, a strategic leader and valued partner for homeless service providers throughout the Central Connecticut region. Doot has been a Director of the organization for three years, serving the last two years the Vice-Chairman of the board. Journey Home, which has received support from many of our staff and attorneys, strives to be the backbone for a team of local service providers for homeless in the region that is passionate about ending homelessness in our local communities through strategic problem solving to eliminate barriers that keep individuals and families from finding stable, affordable housing. Working together, that team succeeded in helping to make Connecticut among the first states in the nation to end chronic homelessness for its veterans. Journey Home's goal is to eradicate chronic homelessness in Greater Hartford by the end of 2016 and family and youth homelessness by 2020.
