John Cerreta Discusses Recent Pro Bono Immigration Victory
John Cerreta was quoted in the article, "2nd Circ. Revives Honduran Man's Bid To Stay In US," in Law360. On February 23, the Second Circuit on Tuesday ruled that an immigration court was wrong to deny Honduran national Edson Flores', request to postpone removal proceedings while he sought a waiver to stay in the U.S., saying that the man's sexual abuse convictions do not bar him from seeking a waiver of inadmissibility. John, who represented Flores pro bono, said that Flores will now have the opportunity to be heard on merits.
