Stan Twardy Elected to CBIA Board of Directors
Day Pitney Managing Partner Stanley A. Twardy, Jr. was formally elected to the Connecticut Business and Industry Association's (CBIA's) Board of Directors on October 24, at the organization's Annual Meeting.
Mr. Twardy is a member of Day Pitney's White Collar Defense and Internal Investigations practice group. Prior to joining the firm in 1993, he served as the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut and as Chief of Staff to the Governor of Connecticut. Mr. Twardy has defended Fortune 500 companies, executives of these companies and others in federal and state criminal and regulatory investigations. Earlier this year, he was named by U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal and Christopher Murphy to serve on their Advisory Panel on Judicial Appointment.
The Annual Meeting was held at the Hartford Marriott Downtown Hotel in Hartford, CT, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. It featured a cocktail reception and two special programs: "Sustainability's New Bottom Line," a panel discussion featuring Day Pitney Real Estate and Environmental attorney Elizabeth C. Barton; and "From Hartford to the Himalayas."
CBIA members include businesses of all sizes from nearly all industries in Connecticut. Its mission is to serve as an advocate for the general business and industry community in Connecticut; promote a state business climate that is globally competitive; encourage communication and cooperation among businesses, government, the private sector and the general public on important economic and social issues; and provide a wide range of products and services that benefit member companies. Businesses from a broad spectrum of industries are represented, including manufacturing, insurance, financial services, biopharmaceutical, and technology research and development. Both Connecticut-based companies and the in-state operations of corporations headquartered out-of-state qualify for membership.
