In an appearance on New England Cable News (NECN) June 6, Christiana Gianopulos said that despite a recent Federal Appeals Court ruling finding the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional, tax issues remain "business as usual" for same-sex couples. The appellate court stayed its decision until the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled on the issue. Christiana went on to say that currently same-sex couples are unable to make use of the gift, estate and income tax benefits that opposite-sex couples may utilize, and that they should be aware of the potential impact on their finances.
On October 10, Tiana Gianopulos will be a panelist at the Business and Professional Women's Success Series breakfast, presented by the Town and County Club in Hartford, CT.
