Business Crimes Bulletin Publishes Article by Stanley Twardy

Stan Twardy and Doreen Klein wrote an article for the November 2011 issue of Business Crimes Bulletin that addressed the issue of immunity for witnesses in federal criminal trials. The prosecution can obtain immunity for its own witnesses but withhold it from the defense. In the right circumstances, however, a defense attorney can convince the court to confer immunity on a defense witness. This, the authors point out, is an important concern and should be given full consideration.
