The Industrial Internet of Things: The Convergence of Cybersecurity and Physical Assets

On April 13, Steven Cash and Evan Reese gave a presentation on "The Industrial Internet of Things: The Convergence of Cybersecurity and Physical Assets" at the 2018 Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Spring Legal Conference held in La Quinta, CA. The talk focused on the legal implications of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and while it included cybersecurity, the thrust was that the IIoT will be an exciting area of law for electric utilities in the coming years in many areas. In addition to the IIoT, the annual conference covered topics of interest to electric utility legal executives, including updates on Federal Energy Regulatory Commission initiatives, priorities from the Environmental Protection Agency and environmental, social and governance reporting.
