Second Circuit Appellate Advocacy Workshop

On May 25, the Federal Bar Council held a CLE, entitled: "Second Circuit Appellate Advocacy Workshop," which was coordinated by Dan Wenner. It was a half-day workshop to help attorneys improve their appellate briefs and arguments. The seminar-style program included a pre-argument breakfast meeting, followed by attendance at the morning's oral arguments. After attending the morning's court session, the participants gathered for a luncheon and an in-depth discussion of appellate advocacy techniques, drawing from the morning's arguments and the briefs for the argued cases. The instructors for the session were The Honorable Denny Chin, Circuit Judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and The Honorable Barbara D. Underwood, Solicitor General of the State of New York.
