Eric Runge Speaks at Boston Bar Association Event: "Wind, Steel & Wires: A Roll Up of the Stimulus Funded Transmission Planning Process"

Boston Counsel Eric Runge will be a panelist at a June 24 event on energy transmission sponsored by the Boston Bar Association.

About this program:

Pursuant to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act ("ARRA") the US Dept. of Energy awarded $30 million to two groups to conduct inter-regional transmission planning across the 39 states that compose the Eastern Interconnection. $14 million was award to the Eastern Interconnection States' Planning Council (EISPC), a group of states' representatives and $16 million to the Eastern Interconnection Planning Collaborative (EIPC), a group of 24 planning authorities.

The panel will discuss this historic planning process - including the status of the planning efforts, the costs and planning implications, the issues and challenges faced by those involved, how this effort may impact your clients, and how they can get engaged in the process.

About Mr. Runge:

Mr. Runge's practice involves the legal, regulatory, commercial, and policy issues facing the evolving electric industry. As part of the team of Day Pitney lawyers that serves as general counsel to the New England Power Pool (NEPOOL), Eric represents NEPOOL before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and provides counsel on a wide range of matters related to regional transmission, system reliability, interregional coordination, generator interconnection, and the design and operation of wholesale power markets.
