On April 9, 2013, Day Pitney was a silver sponsor of the YWCA Hartford Region 18th Annual In the Company of Women Luncheon in Hartford, Connecticut.

The keynote speaker for the event was award winning journalist Laura Ling. Drawing on her recent experience as a detainee in North Korea, Ms. Ling spoke passionately about various social justice issues, the empowerment of women and the need for maintaining hope in all we do.
