On May 18, 2013, the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey (HBA-NJ) held its 32nd Annual Scholarship Gala & Awards Dinner. Day Pitney was a the biggest sponsor of the event. The evenings keynote address was delivered by Sara Manzano-Diaz, Regional Administrator of the United States General Services Administrations Mid-Atlantic Region. The Honorable Joseph H. Rodriguez, U.S.D.J. received the Margarita Echeverria Trailblazer Award.

Thirty thousand dollars in scholarship money was raised and awarded to deserving law students from area law schools. Day Pitney's J. Andres Mayor, who serves as both the HBA-NJ's Recording Secretary and Chair of the Scholarship Committee, presented the scholarship awards. Karol Ruiz and Jonathan Amira, from Seton Hall Law School and Rutgers University School of Law-Camden, respectively, were named Day Pitney scholars.

Nearly 300 guests were in attendance, including practitioners, judges, and state and federal dignitaries. Day Pitney was represented by Francine Esposito, Rachel A. Gonzalez, J. Andres Mayor, Nexus U. Sea, Sylvia-Rebecca Guti?rrez, and Andr?s Acebo. Counsel from Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Inc., AIG, Pfizer, U.S. Trust Bank of America Private Wealth Management, Municipal Credit Union, Jackson Hewitt Tax Services, Inc., and Outbrain were also in attendance as Day Pitney's guests.
