On November 15, 2012, Day Pitney was a Platinum sponsor of the the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association's (CHBA) 19th Annual Awards Celebration at the New Haven Lawn Club in New Haven, CT. Day Pitney Associate Walter Menjivar is the current CHBA Secretary. Counsel Ren? Ortega was CHBA's President in 2009-2010 and is currently serving on the Board of Directors.

The keynote speaker and Achievement Award recipient was The Honorable Dannel P. Malloy, Governor of the State of Connecticut. Other honorees included Yale Law School's Worker & Immigrant Rights Advocacy Clinic (Community Service Award), and the Legal Department of Northeast Utilities (Corporate Award). In addition, scholarships were awarded to six University of Connecticut School of Law students.

Approximately 180 guests attended the event, including the following from Day Pitney: Daniella Azevedo, Marie Bertrand, Dan FitzMaurice, Gerry Garfield, Walter Menjivar, Ren? Ortega, Asker Saeed and Rich Wasserman.
