Environmental Associate
Day Pitney is seeking an associate with 2–3 years of environmental law experience to join our growing team in our Parsippany, New Jersey office.
We are looking for candidates with experience advising clients on a broad range of environmental matters arising in connection with real estate development, business transactions, and regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates will have experience with environmental due diligence, Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA) compliance, water and wetlands issues, site remediation, environmental permitting, environmental cost recovery, and other environmental regulatory compliance matters.
Candidates should have experience working through complex technical issues that involve multiple disciplines and advising clients on environmental risks and compliance obligations. Experience engaging with environmental regulatory agencies, including the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and other federal, state, and local regulatory bodies is preferred.
Day Pitney's Environmental team primarily represents industrial real estate developers, manufacturers, and lenders in all aspects of environmental compliance, permitting, remediation, redevelopment, and transactional matters. Our attorneys regularly counsel clients through complex environmental regulatory requirements and work closely with environmental consultants, engineers, and government agencies to develop practical and strategic solutions. The team also advises clients on environmental issues arising in mergers, acquisitions, financings, and other business transactions.

Position Requirements
- 2–3 years of demonstrated environmental law experience, including environmental due diligence
- Excellent technical, legal research, analytical, and client service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team-oriented with a commitment to collaboration
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage matters independently while working effectively within a team environment
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar in good standing if required
