In his leadership role, Roberts helps organizations anticipate and respond to evolving digital risks. He leads the firm’s work in breach response, regulatory compliance, and enterprise-wide risk management, advising clients across industries on high-stakes data security and privacy matters. Over the course of his career, he has managed hundreds of data breach incidents involving sensitive personal and commercial information and regularly represents clients before federal and state agencies, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights, the Federal Trade Commission, the FBI, the Secret Service, and state attorneys general.

Roberts counsels a diverse client base spanning healthcare and life sciences, education, media and technology, financial services, and family offices. Known for his practical, strategic approach, he advises on breach preparedness, privacy governance, vendor risk, and digital asset protection. His leadership in the field has been widely recognized, including being named to the 2025 Lawdragon 500 Leading Global Cyber Lawyers list (click here for Lawdragon methodology), along with receiving the 2023 Thought Leadership Award (U.S.) from WealthTech Americas (click here for ClearView Financial Media’s WealthTech Americas methodology). Beyond his practice, Roberts is active in both the legal and academic communities and is widely recognized as a thought leader in data privacy and cybersecurity. He frequently speaks at leading industry conferences and events and regularly writes and presents on emerging issues in data privacy, breach response, and digital risk. He serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he teaches data privacy and breach response, and has contributed to state-level initiatives through service on two Connecticut advisory boards focused on privacy and data governance. Roberts earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Colby College. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut.
