Day Pitney's Rebecca Iannantuoni Accepts the Service to the Community Award from Quinnipiac University School of Law Alumni
Day Pitney Partner Rebecca A. Iannantuoni accepted the Quinnipiac University School of Law (QUSL) Alumni Service to the Community Award at the Fall Alumni Awards and Reception held at the law school on November 13. This special evening celebrated the achievements of QUSL alumni and the strong connection between the community and the professional success of its graduates.
“I am truly honored to receive this award from my law school. Quinnipiac has always fostered community engagement of its students and consistently reinforced the importance of using our legal skills to do good in our communities,” said Iannantuoni. “Pro bono work is not separate from my practice – it is central to it. I believe our legal system works best when everyone, regardless of means, has access to justice, and I am routinely reminded that this access is deeply personal and often urgent. I’m grateful to stand alongside so many steadfast advocates, and I am especially grateful to Day Pitney, whose support makes my commitment to this community-based work possible.”
Iannantuoni, a New Haven-based partner in the firm's Private Client Department and co-chair of the firm’s Special Needs Planning practice group, advises individuals and families on estate planning, particularly special needs planning, protective proceedings, and eligibility for government benefit programs. She also represents clients in all aspects of estate and generational wealth planning, estate administration, and other probate matters, including guardianship and conservatorship proceedings. Additionally, she is appointed to serve as a guardian ad litem, conservator, and guardian of intellectually disabled individuals in complex probate court matters.
Iannantuoni is a member of multiple organizations on behalf of individuals with special needs and often speaks at educational and community events covering diverse topics, including special needs planning, guardianship, and alternatives/supported decision-making, as well as government benefits for individuals with special needs.
In addition to her practice, Iannantuoni is a Visiting Clinical Lecturer at Yale Law School and the Legal Supervisor of Yale Law School's Palliative and Geriatric Medical Legal Partnerships, a pro bono partnership where poverty-focused legal services are embedded in the health care setting in an effort to identify, embrace, and solve for social determinants of health (such as housing and food insecurity, access to public assistance benefits, and other civil legal needs that may be impacting a person’s well-being). She also provides pro bono legal representation to children through the Lawyers for Children America, Inc. ("LFCA"). Day Pitney received the 2023 Connecticut Law Firm Award from LFCA. She accepted one of The Honorable Anthony V. DeMayo Pro Bono Awards for 2024 from the Connecticut Bar Association (click here for methodology of the DeMayo Pro Bono award). She also accepted one of the Advocate Hero, Champion for Children awards for 2024 from LFCA (click here for methodology for the Advocate Hero award). Iannantuoni was awarded Day Pitney's 2019 Coleman Award for her exemplary service and dedication to pro bono work and is a member of the firm's Pro Bono Committee. Iannantuoni also serves on the Board of Directors for Fellowship Place in New Haven and is a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys and the CBA's Estates and Probate and Elder Law Sections.
Iannantuoni earned her B.A. from Manhattanville College, with Departmental Honors, and her J.D., cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut.
