Position Summary:
The Litigation Project Assistant will support attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants by providing comprehensive research and organizational assistance on complex litigation cases. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals interested in attending law school or a career in in the legal field, offering significant growth potential and the opportunity to gain valuable legal experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collects, evaluates and summarizes relevant facts and legal concepts for a supervising attorney or supervising paralegal
- Conduct detailed research using various databases and resources to gather information pertinent to litigation
- Assist in managing case documentation, including organizing, indexing case files and evidentiary materials
- Help with trial preparation by assembling binders, evidence, and exhibits
- Maintain and update electronic files
- Provide administrative support such as update calendars and contacts, submit expenses, schedule meetings
- Support which may include document revisions, edits, and proofreading
- This position requires 3 days per week in the office, and 2 days remote. However, additional days in the office may be required on an as needed basis.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Comprehensive computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite, and other firm applications
- Bachelor's degree or previous administrative experience in a professional office environment; law firm experience a plus
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong sense of accountability, ability to take ownership of projects and responsibilities and resolve issues proactively
