Jay Mussman was selected as a Pro Bono Service Award honoree for his judicial circuit by The Florida Bar President Dori Morales-Foster. Honorees were chosen based on their excellent pro bono service and significant contributions to their field. The ceremony will be held virtually on January 28.
"It is an honor to be recognized by The Florida Bar. As a CPA and lawyer, I take pride and pleasure in sharing my passion for financial literacy, my interest in legal education and practice, and my knowledge in tax law to assist individuals involved in tax controversies with the IRS," said Mussman.

Mussman leads Day Pitney's pro bono efforts in Florida. He has provided pro bono services through the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County's Low Income Taxpayer Clinic since 2016. He also volunteers his time regarding financial literacy matters with the School District of Palm Beach County and serves as a Community Board Member of the Financial Literacy Advisory Board. Additionally, Mussman volunteers his time with LawWithoutWalls (LWOW), through the University of Miami School of Law, Coral Gables, Florida.
In 2019, Mussman received a gold level recognition from Legal Aid Society for providing more than 100 hours of pro bono service during 2018, at the 15th Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee’s inaugural Pro Bono Awards Pinning Ceremony. In the same year, he was also selected as a Coleman Award recipient by Day Pitney in recognition of his exemplary service and dedication to pro bono work. He also has provided pro bono services through the Florida Rural Legal Services’ Low Income Taxpayer Clinic as well as Dade Legal Aid - Put Something Back.
