Day Pitney Partner Georgia Thompson Recognized with a 2023 South Florida Business & Wealth Up & Comer Award
Day Pitney is pleased to announce that Litigation Partner Georgia A. Thompson has been recognized by South Florida Business & Wealth magazine with a 2023 Up & Comer Award. The award was given out at a reception on October 5 at the Margaritaville in Hollywood, FL.

Thompson represents businesses in complex commercial litigation matters in Florida's state and federal courts. She has litigated disputes involving product liability, premises liability, professional malpractice, ADA accessibility, personal injury, negligence, wrongful death, fraud, unfair trade practices, breach of contract, and other business disputes and torts. Her clients include those in the financial services, hospitality, telecommunications, consumer goods, and manufacturing industries. Thompson is also a Certified County Court Mediator.

Thompson earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Florida, and her B.S., summa cum laude, from the University of Florida. She is admitted to practice in Florida's state and federal courts. In her local community, Thompson is a member and strong supporter of the Junior League of Miami and its advocacy efforts for women and children, as well as of Beaux Arts, a volunteer organization whose purpose is to encourage an understanding and appreciation of the arts in South Florida. She is active in her church community at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, Coral Gables. She has been involved with the Coral Gables Bar Association, the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, a supporter of the United Way of Miami-Dade, and served as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem. At Day Pitney, Thompson is the hiring partner for law student recruitment across the firm's Florida offices and serves on the firm's Litigation Technology Committee advising on innovation efforts and technology adoption across the firm.
Thompson is a proud double Gator and maintains a strong affiliation with the University of Florida. She was inducted into the University of Florida Hall of Fame in 2012, and was installed as a member of the Florida Blue Key leadership honorary society at the University of Florida in 2006. She is involved in the University of Florida Alumni Association, Gator Boosters, and various university initiatives. She currently serves on the host committee for Florida Blue Key's centennial anniversary, to be celebrated this Fall.
