New York Issues HERO Act Airborne Infectious Disease Exposure Prevention Standard and Model Plan

On May 5, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Cuomo signed the New York Health and Essential Rights (HERO) Act, which establishes mandatory workplace safety standards, and requires employers to implement a written plan to protect against airborne infectious diseases. On July 6, the New York State Department of Labor, in consultation with New York State Department of Health, issued the standard and a model plan for employers. Read more.
