Overview

Matthew "Matt" Carey advises clients with corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, private placements of debt and equity securities and corporate governance. He advises clients on structuring, forming and operating private investment funds.

Prior to joining Day Pitney, Matt worked as a business law associate at a boutique Boston area law firm servicing high net worth families, businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Experience

Represented a nationwide fuel distributor in connection with a $95 million multi-lender credit facility to fund an upcoming acquisition and an according feature to permit additional loans in connection with other acquisitions

Represented a private equity fund in connection with several preferred stock investments in early stage fintech companies

Represented privately held companies across a broad spectrum of industries in general corporate matters and ongoing governance compliance

Represent privately held companies in all aspects of asset or stock purchase transactions in a variety of industries

Assist privately held companies in managing both national and international trademark portfolios.
