Affordable Housing Law 'Streamlines' Process for Cities

Gianetti commented that the new law could positively impact affordable housing production in New Jersey, provided specific towns looking to take advantage of its provisions follow proper procedure.
"Overall, provided the various deadlines in the law are met, this will have a benefit on the production of affordable housing," Gianetti said. "The reality is that towns that take the obligation seriously and seek compliance in good faith will have their matters handled expeditiously. Towns that are going to look to avoid these obligations or delay the process are likely going to wind up back in court."
