Day Pitney Florida Managing Partner Manuel A. Garcia-Linares has been named to Florida Trend's inaugural Legal Elite NOTABLE Managing Partners list.
Garcia-Linares was one of a selected group of managing partners from law firms across Florida, recognized for qualities and skills such as charting a safe course for their firms, foreseeing change, pursuing repeated success, and the experience and vision to guide a firm. To qualify for the list, nominees had to be in good-standing with the Florida Bar; be based in Florida; serve in a managing partner or equivalent role with a professional staff size of at least 10; have practiced at least 10 years; and have made a significant impact in their field. Nominees must also mentor other attorneys, promote inclusive practices in the workplace, and show leadership in professional organizations and civic/community service initiatives. In addition to serving as managing partner of Day Pitney's Florida offices, Garcia-Linares sits on the firm's Executive Board, and serves as Vice Chair of the firm's Litigation Department. He is chair of the Florida Business Development Committee, and is actively involved with Day Pitney Diverse Attorneys (DPDA), the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the Hiring Committee, and the Racial Justice and Equity Task Force.
Garcia-Linares is a past president of the Cuban American Bar Association and Cuban American CPA Association and serves on the board of several other organizations that promote diversity and inclusion, such as the Cuban American Bar Association Foundation and the Florida Chapter of the Hispanic Bar Association. He is also Outside General Counsel to the Coral Gables Retirement Board.
In his law practice, Garcia-Linares, a litigation partner, advises clients in complex commercial and business litigation, officer and director liability, real estate, probate and trust, professional malpractice (legal and accounting), and class action litigation. He also works with fellow team members on family office, corporate, transactional, and estate planning matters. Garcia-Linares is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida. He earned his B.A. from the University of Miami and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Tulane University.
