On April 18, Florida partner Gary Betensky, past president and current board member of the American Jewish Committee, Palm Beach Region, appeared before the West Palm Beach City Commission to thank West Palm Beach Mayor Keith James and the City Commissioners for adopting the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism. The city's decision to define antisemitism in its increasingly complex forms is an important tool in the battle against rising incidents of antisemitism. By fighting antisemitism, the AJC protects the human rights of other minority communities. As the former Chief Rabbi of the UK, Jonathan Sacks, poignantly stated, "The hate that begins with Jews never ends with Jews. By combating antisemitism, we protect the human rights of all communities. Thank you for your strong leadership."
