Partner Eric Sussman was interviewed by the Hartford Business Journal for the feature article, "Legal Experts: Employers Should Review Policies in Light of New CT Anti-Discrimination Law." The feature discusses how in light of the CROWN Act passing, which bans workplace discrimination against natural hair and hairstyles, employers should review and possibly refresh their employee handbooks.
Sussman stated, "It's important that employees review employee handbooks and company policies to ensure that they are in compliance with the CROWN ACT. While employers can impose general grooming policies, it's important to be mindful of how those policies are phrased and how they're implemented in practice."
