John Vukelj has joined Day Pitney's New York office as a Litigation partner in the firm's Complex Commercial Litigation and Government Enforcement practice groups.

"We are excited to have John join the firm. His experience in securities and commercial litigation in the federal and state trial and appellate courts further expands our business litigation presence and opportunities in New York," said Day Pitney Managing Partner Thomas D. Vukelj has more than 15 years of experience representing corporate and individual clients in complex litigation, internal investigations, and corporate compliance and governance matters. He is a trusted advisor to clients operating in the financial services, technology, energy, pharmaceutical, and media and entertainment industries. In his litigation practice, Vukelj represents clients in commercial disputes, securities class actions, shareholder derivative actions, RICO actions and enforcement actions by the Securities and Exchange Commission. In his investigations and compliance practice, he helps clients with issues relating to Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctions, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, insider trading and corporate governance matters.

"I'm joining Day Pitney for its agile and flexible approach to business generation and the full-service capabilities and sophistication Day Pitney offers each of its clients," said Vukelj. "It's a forward-thinking and client-focused firm, and I'm thrilled to be a part of it."

Vukelj earned his B.A., cum laude, from New York University, and his J.D. from Cornell Law School, where he was an editor of the Cornell Law Review and President of the Cornell Law Student Association.
